installing new gauge

Can someone help with (in laymans terms), how to wire electrical for a gauge? It s lthe ighting thats got me. I want it to where the gauge lights are controlled by the dash light switch.

Any help is appreciated!

You can buy fuse taps from Autozone, for like 2 bucks. It plugs in to your fuse box in the dimmer switch position, and has a wire that runs out of it. You just run the wire from your gauge down to this wire, and you're all set. This method eliminates having to splice factory wiring (which I personally prefer to use.)

Youre saying that you prefer to splice factory wiring or use the fuse tap?

I found it easier to tap into the wire going to the fuse under the dash. I believe it was #37 in my 02.
