installing roller rockers

is there a certain way you need to install roller rockers on the heads, i want to upgrade to 1.7 roller rockers and i want to know if i can just bolt them on or do i have to sequence them or what? please let me know thanks.

Go to www.cranecams.com,they have instructions there.If your looking for a set used a friend at work is upgrading to TF heads with stud rockers.He'd probably give you a good deal.Let me know.

if they are stud mounted you have to set the lash. Just twist the pushrod between your fingers as you tighten the rocker down, as soon as you feel some resistence in twisting the pushrod, you are at 0 lash, tighten down 1/4 to 1/2 turn more and lock the rocker down. Of course this has to be done in a certain sequence to make sure you are on the flat part of the cam lobe for that rocker, im not familiar with the 302 sequence, but that is the way to "adjust" them.

If its pedestal mounted, then im not sure because i have studs.

I thought gt 40 heads were pedistal mount unless you had them drilled or used the conversion kit.

Thats true, im just explaining studs because thats what i have. Pedestals IDK, i think you just bolt down and go, but shims come into play there.
