They are just dust boots. They really are not needed and don't usually come with struts. You don't need them.cjman15 said:

and i saw something on summit that were like kyb mounts... what about that?? sorry about all tha Q's... i'm just a beginner with this sort of stuff and i just wanna get my facts straight...
ok think about this, the three bolts hold the strut upper mount which consist of bushing/spacer/DUST SLEVE/lower bushing and whatnot.
if you think fighting the strut from out of the dust boot and the lower aarm and spindle go ahead, but i dont even think it will come out of there if the dust boot in place with out lowering the lower aarm. the stock caster camber plates are held in place by a rivit the will slide left to right but once you put the strut bck in with the upper mount they will be realigned, unless ofcourse you have no rivit. my algnment is dead strait on i aligned it with a $50k alignment rack so if its wrong the goverment wasted an ass load of money on it

UPDATE: Installed my shocks today. Cut my fingers pretty bad from a slippery wrench however, gonna do the struts tomorrow... here's a pic of tha shocks... so far, they feel really good... the rear feels sturdier already
one other thing, under what should i raise the car with the jack? i can't raise it on tha frame where the stands are going to go...??? 
i did not re-read this all. first off, sorry to hear about your cut - mechanics gloves are a great investment for suspension work (or hot engine work).
you should be able to get a jack and stands on the engine cradle.

ok thanks man, yeah i like ripped my one thumb nail almost clean off... bloody like crazy haha its gonna be sore
