Installing Steeda CAI

hey , i just ordered the steeda air kit also. i hope it gets here tomarrow. i lost my screen a long time ago so so i hope that it dont harm anything.

anyway i here that some sensor or plug has to be relocated when using the steeda kit. i hope that this is in the directions so i know what im doing.

good luck with your kit :nice:

I have the Steeda CAI. As I recall, it was an easy install...only one swear word as I recall. M7y install took a little longer as I was removing my C&L MAF and inlet tube too.

You can leave the screen out. The Steeda CAI is designed to run w/o it. Removing the screen will tend to bump your a/f a tad in the lean direction, but on an na car it's not worth worrying about, just something you should be aware of.

Every mod that you due to the car on the intake or exhaust side can change your a/f a little one way or another. It's the sum of all the changes that really matters.

I took the screen out because it was a tight fit with it in there. What does running lean mean? Does this hurt the cars perfromance?

my advice is just be careful with the MAF housing (the plastic black tube) because when i tightened the bolts, i cracked it. Then i cracked it in another place trying to epoxy it. I finally said **** it and bought the C&L system with the 85mm metal housing, and was done with it.
