Installing stock torque converter, 2 or 3 clicks?

I have read of both. The car is an 86 and I am putting the stock converter back in. When I rotate it and push it in is the 2 or 3 clicks? Thanks

I could have sworn it was 3. It's been close to 10 years since I touched an AOD though.

3 gears = 3 clicks!!!! Make sure it spins freely!!!!!

Just to clearify, an AOD is a 4 speed automatic, I know, however only 3 gears, 4th "gear" is just an overdrive band, not really a gear!!

well I only counted 2, but I'm pretty sure its in all the way. I kept lifting up and spining it and it would not go in anymore. Plus it hooked up to the flywheel and now everything is spining so I think I'm good.

many times they go 2 clicks at the same time, the main thing is that when you bolt the converter to the flywheel ,you should have to pull the converter up against the flywheel
