Well you know the trans and exhaust has to come down. If you are handy, you can do it. It's just bolts. The only advice I can give you is to make sure you seat the converter properly. Turn it and make sure it fits in all the way. If it isn't in all the way, it will break the front pump on the trans and ruin the converter.

I second that. A torque convertor kinda slips on twice. It makes one clunck as it goes on and you spin it and it should move in more. If you don't get it on proberly you will have troubles.

Thx sir. i believe it is the 2 splines of the 2 shafts fitting into where they should in the convertor. I think thats why spining helps so that you can line up the other spline so it slips on. My brother in laws did one on a dodge they had. They didn't get it on right. cooked the tranny. Very important to get it all the way on. It isn't hard

as i recall, when i did mine on my 90 AOD there were three splines. or at least three drops on clunks that you will feel. make sure that you feel all of them or else! someone please correct me if i'm wrong but i don't believe i am. you will also want to put half to one quart ATF in the converter before installing. other things to do are to replace the front tranny seal because the old converter and seal have there own wear pattern and it might leak after installing a new converter. also, make sure the drain plug is aligned properly with the flexplate.

if the conv is in all the way you should have to pull it up to the flexplate, if it is not, it will be smashed against the flexplate

TV cable adjustment is done at the throttle body. THere should be no need to adjust it with a TC install.

you need to mark the tv cable w/marking compound of some sort where it bolts to the drivers side linkage on the tranny. do this b/c it is slotted at that spot and allows for a small range of adjustment. you might no need to but it could save you a headache down the road.
