installing x-pipe need help

So I'm installing my x-pipe and it takes me a total of 5minutes to the bolts loose that connect the exhaust to the stock h pipe.Heres the hard part. HOW THE HELL DO YOU GET THE FACTORY HEADER BOLTS OUT!!!! I stripped the nuts and now I'm screwed. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Soak the nuts overnight w/ liquid wrench. If that doesn't work, take it to a muffler shop. They'll be able to take the nuts off for you.

That's why I used No Power tools Cus I did that once and I was pissed!

Yeah those bolts coming off of the exhaust studs are not fun. The ones on the drivers side are not that bad. Use a 1/2" drive rachet and extension... a 3/8" set has too much flex in it sometimes. You will need a long extension....especially on the passenget side. To get the bolts loose on the passenger side you will need a universal joint extension on the end of a long straight extension. A extension with wobble helps too. If you dont have a universal joint extension it is very hard to get the socket onto the nut straight. Without the universal the socket will be at an angle and strip the nut. I got a set of 1/2" wobble extensions at pepboys. Good luck. Dont get discouraged.

How about just cutting the bolts? The x pipe came with new ones or are you suppose to use the old ones

Well if you are talking about the bolts coming off of the manifold then no you cant cut them. They are actually studs taht are pressed into the manifold... you just need to remove the nuts....the studs stay pressed in the manivold. As far as cutting the nuts...you could do that but I think it would be extremly hard to get something like a dremel up in there. Maybe if you have one of those dremels with the flexible shaft attachment.

You can replace the studs with new ones. One of the nuts on the passenger side wouldn't come loose and I ended up spinning the stud out with the nut attatched to it.

My car has about 2k miles when I put LT headers on.. but still that passenger stock manifold to H pipe was a bitch... good luck man.

You need a mid size socket. Comes off easily if you got the right tools.

And if the nuts are already stripped you can get the tools to remove them at home depot last year i got myself the full kit, the bolt remover the nut remover and the screw remover so now any of them cant break on me and i'll be able to remove them still!
