I'm going to have a Bassani X-Pipe put on soon. I currently have a stock-H pipe. Do I need anything for the MILs or o2 sesors? I THINK the 2000s are a straight up, pull out, put in. No?

All your help is appreciated

expect the passenger side bolts to be a pita, other than that it's pretty straight forward, just make sure to have a 7/8 wrench for the o2's

Be sure to let your exhaust fully cool down. I was in a hurry, didn't let it cool down all the way, and that is what I think caused the header stud to shear off. Also, I remember the o2 sensor being 22 mm? Maybe I was smokin crack though.

Yea, I'm aware of the passenger header bolt. That's the reason I'm having my mechanic doing it.

So the o2 sensors come out and go right back in the new pipe right? Only 2, not 4 of them, yes?

Let me rephrase what I'm asking:

Is there anything additional that I need to complete this install? Like I know 02+ stangs need MIL extensions or something like that. Do 2000s need anything like this? Or will I be able to rip out the 6-catted H and throw in my X pipe?

Really not a terrible install. I recently had to install the stock h pipe which can be pretty heavy when its just you under the car. Passenger bolts were definately a pita but once you get those off the removal is simple. For the install I suggest you take a jack and put it under the back end of the pipe that way once you thread in some of the header bolts its fairly level. Also the jack does great to help with the weight if you're doing it alone. Good luck

No, you will not need the extensions. If its an off road X then I would get some mil eliminators, other than that, off and on it goes.

All cars 96-present need MIL's (not extentions) unless you turn the back o2's off via tune. The o2's take either a 22mm or 23mm wrench.

It's a very easy install.

Those Mac gaskets are only 1% of the quality of a Ford OEM gasket though. They tend to burn up and blow out unless Mac changed the way they make them.

Ambo's x pipe is used so i don't think it came with one.

You should only have 4 cats, I thought there was 6 through 98 I didn't need extensions on my o2's, just threw the mils on the back ones and plug em back in. Off road FTMFW!!!

There is only one gasket, it's on the passenger side.

The extensions are needed for 2004 models

Ambo make sure you disconnect the battery when you do this, the starter is right there (shock-shock) when you're trying to unbolt the passanger side pipes off
