My '92's instrument panel is dark except for about two lights by the tach needle and the 5k rpm. This morning is was ALL dark, then when I turned the lights off and on they ALL lit. Then I checked it at lunch and just the two are lit again. Any ideas? Bad ground?
Thanks guys.

Probably loose light bulbs. In my 2001 explorer, the lights for the heat/cooling controls would go on and off seemly random for awhile. Then i'd hit it hard and they'd come on. Then they just stopped working. Took the dash apart and the bulbs were loose. Reseated them and it works great again.

I had the same issue. When I pulled out the cluster I found a green card type connecter on the right side had dulled contacts. Scuffed them up and all lights back on.

Ok, I took it all apart and cleaned all the contacts with a little sandpaper. Put it all back together and all work except the two that originally worked!!! AHHHH!!!
'guess I'll have to take it apart again. What a pita!
