Insurance Qs My stang depends on it.

Well we will be living in a decent-better part of the neighborhood. We are both 21 and have never had problems with credit cards or anything like that.

I'm 21 here, good credit, single with 2 vehicles on my policy with State Farm. I'm paying $600 every 6 months by my self. If I was to get married that's when you get the Adult rate or age 25, what ever one comes 1st, and that should drop the rates I've been told by about 20-25%.

Do call around and ask cause I called looking before I went there and I was being quoted $900+ everywhere else I looked.

I don't know if you guys can help me or not with this but my stang is riding on this. I will be getting married in May and will become the primary driver on my car. Right now i have my mom as the primary driver and i am the primary driver for a buick. I pay 700 a yr for the buick and i am a little conserned about what my insurance is going to be on my stang when i get it full time. My fiance is driving a Taurus and is paying 1200 a yr. Both of us have only had one accident in our lives. Now i know that when you get married your insurance goes down but how much? I love my car dearly but if i have to pay 3-4 grand a yr to drive it well its not gonna happen.

What do you people that are the primary/main drivers for your mustang pay a yr and what company do you use?

I hope i am getting nervous for nothing because i would really love to keep my car. Its not in the best shape but its still cool to say i drive a mustang. :nice:

Thanks,

Nick

Agreed. But, it's not gonna cost that much. I'm 19, have one speeding ticket, and my last quote was 1800/yr. Still too high, my next car will be atleast $500/yr lower - mustangs are super "high risk" for insurance companies, too many dumb people crashing them not knowing how to drive a RWD car in the rain/snow.

I actually have esurance for my trans am, and stang i just have liability on each of them now that there being stored, considering in WI we have high rates, but anyway i pay like 130 bucks a month for liability converage, and during the summer i was paying 245 a month for full coverage on stang and liability on TA, and im 25 8 or 9 speeding tickets 1 accident not my fault. So its not all that bad..

I don't get it....you guys all post these lovely rates and whenever I go onto places like geiko or progressive the absolute LOWEST I find is 2500 every 6 months, while right now i'm getting 1040 every 6 at state farm...How is there THAT much of a gap between what I pay and what the other places quote? 18, careless driving (dougnuts in a parking lot :/), otherwise perfectly clean record, good student...

Common factors for lower rates
Age
Driving record
Multiple vehicles
Married
Home owner
Geographic location
Paying in advance
safety and anti-theft features

I'm sure there's more

Edit: some will give loyalty discounts (how long you've been with the insurance agency)

18, only careless driving...no speeding or any other vehicle-related violation, own 2 vehicles but yeah...1's a pile, not married, not a home owner, town of total 170,000 but the actual town I live in is 34,000....passive anti theft, who knows. Guess i'll be with state farm for another 2 years.

Careless driving is a big deal. It's essentially driving like you're DUI but without the booze part - which = stupid driver; to the insurance company atleast.
