How much HP would I gain by only adding a TF or Edelbrock U/L intake manifold and maybe a throttle body? Heads will eventually come, but until then I'd like to do something to get some more power. I understand I wont get the full result without heads, but right now my wallet is too small. Thanks!

Edelbrock upper + lower (performeer) + a 70 mm tb = 35-40 hp.
I got that from a BBK catalog. Surprisingly FF&MM did an issue, where, an a Performer was installed and that 70 mm tb and gained 40 hp. It's on the March issue of FF&MM, I did not purchase that magazine, but I was more attracted to the installation, and it does say add 40 hp on the cover.
I don't know what it adds to the wheels or the torque, but fact is, it was on MM&FF. I regret not purchasing that magazine.
BTW, guess what going into my engine tomorrow? (it's on the topic)
ohh, and a Home made CAI, BBK pulley's, headers, and an off road H-pipe.
Tomorrow can't come soon enough.

I think 10-15 rwhp is more of a reasonable expectation on a stock 5.0. Even with just a head swap, you'd be hard pressed to get 40 extra h/p.
DO NOT GO 70!!!! I have my trickflow on there and once i put the 70 on there... well its just too big, no velocity. I run stock heads and my car cant spin the tires from a stop with the 70 on there. Im putting the stock back on today. with the 60 she spins all the time. Even 3:73's dont help to get them to spin.
As for top end.. sucks too, I was going up a hill had the car pined. As I was taking my foot off the gas got more velocity and the car pull like 5mph instanly.
65 is your best bet if not dont waist 200$ on it right now.
btw stock maf and tb worked the best with my combo.
full tank of gas A/C on my 200lb friend in the car and going up a big hill. She was pulling better than an empty car with the 70mm

I just did this. Installed a TFS Street intake and 65mm FMS tbody. I got 12 hp at the peak and 16 hp under the curve. Torque went up by 3lb.ft. under the curve and remained the same at the peak.
The peaks occurred 700RPM higher for the HP and 300RPM higher for torque. The car pulls strong past 5k with the TFS rather than falling off at 4.5k with the stocker. Now I'm saving for heads.

A very common misconception of the throttle body size is velocity. The 5mm difference is going to make little difference in the velocity of incoming air. Whatever you do, do not keep the stocker. I was recommened a 70mm TB by my custom cam grinder, who happens to know slightly more than the average Joe. He even told me that a 75mm wouldn't be a bad idea. If anyone can show me actual proof that a 70mm TB kills their car, then I'll believe it. Otherwise, don't come in with false, unproven claims.
That issue in MM&FF was compared to a motor with a set of aftermarket cylinder heads and a stock intake manifold on it. Like everyone said, a 15 RWHP gain is most likely when swapping the intake manifold on a stock longblock.
