I just installed an edel/5.0 performer and am experiencing an leak in the middle of the manifold on the passenger side. The car was driven twice
(20min & 35min)before I located the problem. I had torqued the lower to spec
before assembly and everything went like clockwork. The noise was not apparent at idle at all and could only be heard under load. When I located the
source I found 1 bolt to be almost hand tight and everyone I could reach loosened. I torqued down all I could reach and limped it home last night.(It
quieted down but not totally) My question is once I take off the upper and
re-torque eveything will this solve the problem or do you think I've already
caused gasket failure? Edelbrock says to use 16-18flbs. but trickflow and others use 20? Has anyone else had this problem with their performer?
