If I am going to upgrade to a edelbrock performer intake, is the anything besides the manifold itself that I will NEED to install along with it such as gaskets or valves or what have you or can I simply bolt on the new intake and be ready to go?

Section 8 on the link that Stangfreak95 posted will show you how to install it. Now the parts that are needed will come with a new Peformer minus the gaskets and elbow adapter. The ARP 12 point intake bolts are very nice. I'm using them with the new motor. Use Fel-Pro 1250 lower intake gaskets.

Is it me, or is that first picture wrong. It is supposed to be showing the three vacum holes that need to be plugged on the lower intake. Instead it shows the upper plenum and is pointing to the egr, accelerator cable, and the cable bracket.

If your getting a new one, it shoud come with everything you need. Edelbeock is good about that. However I've known people who got things mixed up before etc. But edelbrock is good about getting you the right stuff if something doess go wrong. But yea you need the elbow too. I dunno if you want the professional products crap. I've seen crappy stuff from them (it was for a 454 chevy tho) but then again the even the people that have their stuff say its a mixed bag as to what quality you will get. So the elbo ortion is up to you. But yea hillie16's install info is really good on the FAQ. That's what I used for my install and hes right on the money.
