I am looking for an intake What seems to work the best for street/strip driving?

I've heard good thing about Edelbrock Performer/RPM/RPM II manifolds. Trick has the "street heat" intake manifold. You got Cobra and GT-40 and Holley Systemax.

One of those should work for you.

I dont want to be an echo so...there's many to choose from. I have the knock off of the edelbrock performer (Typhoon) made by professional products. Its the same upper and lower just without the price tag and edlebrock name on it. I got mine to my door for 309.00 from blue oval performance.

I forgot about the typhoon, stng94, thanks for reminding me.

If your going to have a street strip car my recommendation is the typhoon or edelbrock, or the Cobra intake.

Or Explorer intake - it flows the same as the Cobra.

I thought about the Typhoon for myself, but isn't it supposed to be a replica of the Performer RPM? I'd rather not loose any low end torque.

Dude, Edelbrock Performer 5.0! Adds 37 horses to a STOCK 5.0! That's what I'm gonna roll with when I get around to it.

EDIT: Plus, it has a good power band for mostly stock 5.0's, idle-5500 rpm. So if you don't have heads and a cam etc. etc., I think it's a great intake.

for an almost stock motor i would either go for the Cobra/Explorer/GT40 intake or edelbrock performer intake. Edelbrocks are nice because if you ever need the added airflow all you have to do is buy a better upper like the RPM or RPM II.

Not that it isnt good, but I will never believe that an intake will had 37 HP to a STOCK 5.0..That is a 20% gain over stock. I do agree that the Performer is the right choice tho, if you upgrade mods, you can change out the upper only.

Intakes

If your motor is mostly stock, definetely do not get a GT-40!! That will kill your low rpms. If you plan on staying mostly stock, get the lowest of anyones brand. EX.--Edelbrock performer--idle to 5500--or the Holleys are good. The cobra will work well too.

dude the gt40 is almost exactly like the Cobra/Explorer intakes, they all use the same lower.

eddy performer or trick flow street heat. yeah, 37 hp if you already have a SUPERCHARGER on a stock 5.0

Yeah, and the disclaimer on the ad says:

The 37HP they claim is flywheel HP which is correct. Add in the friction loss percentage and its around 22-25HP at the wheels. I got 22HP at the wheels so they were right on.

There is a 40% drop from 37 to 22. So youre saying that there is a 40% loss to the rearwheels from the fly wheel?

If you normally consider 15% loss on a 5-speed, the 22 to the wheels represents 26 at the fly. (26-22) = 4. 4 divided by 26 is about 15%.

I am holding out for the BBK intakes supposedly coming out this summer. They are supposed to have one with the 94-95 elbow cast into the intake like the Cobra and stock intakes have for our Mustangs

The real potential of any intake and exhaust bolt-on will not be fully released until the stock heads are replaced and that's a fact.
