okay i am having some serious air sucking or blowing sounds coming under the hood, its coming from the driver side. i feel like i have black lung i have sprayed so much carb cleaner trying to find a vacuum leak. i have checked everything i can think of all of the lines on the firewall, the master cylinder. it sounds big, its very noticeable even if the hood is shut.

if it is an intake gasket the air would be sucking which would choke the engine if sprayed with carb cleaner, unless i am missing something. correct? it would not be pushing air would it?

could a bad head gasket be making a noise like wind (like air into a phone but less crackly...) could a bad head gasket even leak air? i didnt notice any oil on the block.

any ideas i am pretty lost at this point.

If it was a head gasket blown to that magnitude it would be spewing coolant everywhere. No 100% guarantee its not the head gasket but highly unlikely. I had a leaking intake gasket once and i noticed a massive amount of sucking through the oil fill cap. Did you recently do anything to the car, or did this just happen to occur? How does the car run?? Is it even drivable like it is?

car is driving pretty good, no real issues. just noise. just recently i have had the throttle body taken apart, i re-used all gaskets. tried getting the gaskets to replace the old ones tonight but they had to order from hub. but that is not sucking any carb cleaner. i am still going to replace these gaskets tomorrow.

the car is idling at about 1050 it is higher than before i cleaned out the Tbod, spacer, IAC. i was pretty meticulous about looking for leaks tonight i really do not think that it is a hose... i always seem to be wrong about this **** though...

Is there a vac leak from the big tube that goes from the back of the upper intake to the vac tree on the firewall? hose my have a small crack under the intake where carb cleaner might have missed. when you go to pick up your gaskets get a length of hose and change that one, i wouldnt think that it would cost more than a buck for a foot or so of hose.
