ive been thinking about trying something like this for a while using a carburated manifold but keeping the efi. In order to lower the intake hight and change the angle to something easier to use

would this be possable and what would the pros and cons of it be

Cons = No low end. Pros = high HP but all in the upper range. You may not like it. Depends on your mods, depends on your goals. Maybe put mods in your sig when you have a moment. Good luck!

you would loose low end due to the decreased runner length. The reason the 5.0 plenum is shaped the way it is with the long runners is so that it generates air velocity = good low end torque (well, this is at least how I understood it) If you run a setup like the one seen in that picture, the car will lack velocity at low rpms, but will be free flowing at redline (hence the gain in top end power) Its kind of like heads with larger valves vs heads with smaller valves, smaller = more velocity @ low rpm and larger = more flow at high rpm. IMO, its not worthwhile, I love the low end torque and wouldnt sacrifice it for high rpm power (unless it was a strictly track car)

yeah, it also helps to create more turbulence which give you more power at lower rpms.....a setup like that wouldn't do too good for your lowend

they're better intakes out there that accomplish roughly the same thing...

what are your goals for the car?
