intake question

anyone know what year ford changed intakes that were prone to cracking on the 4.6? i was reading about people who had trouble and i have an 01 and wondering if my car has the better intake. thank's ERIC

I think it was 96-98 so you should be safe.

The intakes on the 96-98 mustangs for sure break, though I believe even the 99-00 mustangs have the same problem.

Does your intake have an alum crossover (where the thermostat housing is)? If so, you should be good to go

Just look at your intake manifold. If the crossover tube in the front is made of aluminum, then you have the updated intake.

If it's plastic, you have one of the intakes that is prone to cracking.
