Cheap fix for me personally.

As a heat spacer, I really don't know. Aluminum conducts heat very well, so as soon as the heads get hot, the intake gets hot. I don't know if the spacer makes a good heat barrier or not. But just from heat.....heat.....umm, what's the word. Inductance?

You know, the heat absorbed from the engine heating the surrounding air?

I bet the air will heat the intake eventually. Maybe good for the track, where you can sit for a while and let the motor cool down. And maybe the upper intake won't have time to heat up.

i have one i can let go cheap.... no bolts though.... but htey can be found at home depot or somewhere....

Scott, I think you were getting at radiant heat. The engine bay gets so hot as is, I doub't a spacer would make a huge difference. It's constantly air cooled from the inside out anyway.

I think there is a difference between the under hood air temp, and the temp of the heads (which are in direct contact with the combustion chamber).

But anyway, I still doubt a spacer would make much difference as a pure question of performance. The air flows through there pretty quickly,

i have one for a edelbrock won't fit with my hood, and a 1" for a stocker..... didn't look at your sig.... you prolly aint stock......lol

1" on stock, nothing on edelbrock, and i am unsure on tfs or holley...

I use a 3/8" spacer, and let me tell you it does cool down the upper intake and the upper intake air temperatures alot. I did it for the reason you did it. It isn't really a cheap fix, there is no other way to fix that problem other than buy different valve covers.
