I'm just starting to look at blowers for 96 GT (but with PI Heads) ...what is available in a roots-blower? And what lower intake to get if not included with the blower?
I know, but thats just more workkrly79 said:Well, If your going to go with a vortech, then by all means put the PI heads on. You won't have any problems with a centrifigul and PI heads because it doesn't sit in the "valley". It bolts to the front of the engine on a bracket.
Ahh, I guess the heads will be coming off anyways when the bottom end is rebuilt. I suppose those PI heads are going on reguardless... I'd rather have a roots-style blower though. I'm curious...why would the ignition affect different blower applications? I figured the main thing would be fuel delivery. The rest is timing. What computer mods do they do? I mean I know the computer needs tweakin', but I'm guessing you didn't actually take the car to Steve Saleen's garage. You mean the kit comes with a burned chip or with software outlining the remapping of the ecm?UVBNHAD said:It depends on how you want your car to respond. Roots for instantaneous power or centrigal/belt-driven for spool power. The KB Flowzilla is one of the best roots style blowers you can get. That being said I opted for the Saleen/Eaton Stage II blower and I was not disappointed. I went with the Eaton because of the computer modifications Saleen makes.

Absolutely correct. What I was getting at is that Saleen actually grasps the potential and uses it to actually do good. Either way, it's all good.white99gt said:Actually what he is describing is called a adaptive tune..Its on ALL fords..Its something a lot of peaple harp on as a selling feature

Oh, ok.krly79 said:What I meant by the whole coil packs is that they are mounted on a bracket between the heads over the intake in the front. If you put a roots style 'charger on that is for a 99+ and you have coil packs, then it won't come with different mounts for your coil packs to move them somewhere else.
Yeah, yeah ... super expensive but very complete for 350+rwhp at 6lbs
Based on design and engineering.
And well the Eaton on the Cobra remains stock for now.
