Intakes

With stock heads you will yeild minimal results. Do you plan on changing out the heads later on?

I would say for a bolt on stang, go with a TMoss (www.tmossporting) ported lower intake.

If you do not choose that route, I would say a Cobra, Explorer or the Tubular Gt40 manifold.

If you need to pass emissions where you live I would opt for regular iron GT40's not the P's cause they don't have provisions for the thermactor smog tubes. If you don't have to pass emissions i agree with look it's aaron.

I've purchased several items off Ebay, and have never been ripped off. Stick with a reputable person on there with a lot of good feedback, and you should be relatively safe. Going with something like a Cobra intake, you probably wouldn't lose any down low, but have an increase across the board. It would be pretty limited due to the stock heads, but definitely worth somewhere in the 20 HP range. As long as you avoid the higher RPM intakes like the Edelbrock RPM/Typhoon, you should see a fairly good increase, that would be noticable while driving.

I would do a set of AFR 165's, port matched Performer II and a Comp cam, Comp cam 1.6 roller rockers and Manley 4130 chromemoly pushrods. Call Comp cam for their rec's for a cam on ur combo w/ stock pistons.

For a street car, stick with a long runner intake. I tried a short runner combo on my street 302 and it wasn't what I had hoped for. If planning for a stroker in the near future, then it would be more apporpriate. I like the cobra intake for cost/performance.

As far as ebay goes... As mentioned above research the seller as well as the part. You can find some decent deals. I got my ported trickflows for 700. I had them disassembled and cleaned at my favorite machine shop, and they were in perfect shape.

Consider what you might do in the future, while making your decision.
