Intank fuel pump

Has anyone ever tryed putting these into there cars?
how would the fuel gauge work if this went into the way?
I want to invest into a fuel pump but i dont want a hugh electric fuel pump in the way or causeing problems....
I am buying a fuel cell i dont drive it that much, only a sat sunday car just for cruzing or taking to the track
