hey my tranny seems like its slipping and it makes a loud whinning noise.
my mechanic told me it was the torque converter. My question is if i could get a converter from the junk yard that would fit mine. i have and 88 5.0 convertable GT. I was thinking maybe a converter from a 5.0 thunderbird because theres about 5 t birds in a junk yard about 10mins from my house. Is it interchangeable??? any other ford converters that would fit my tranny???
also my mechanic told me i have c6 tranny??? I thought i had a aod. The reason im doing this because i need my car asap and only have about 80 - 100 dollars to spend till like a month from now.
