Today while I was out at lunch, I spotted a 70 Mustang Grande with a houndstooth roof and seat inserts. It was dark green inside and out. Pretty nice semi-restored daily driver. There was a baby seat in the back.
I know some 70 Cougars had a houndstooth roof/seat insert package available. I knew about the Mustang package as well but I haven't seen one in many years.
A friend of mine used to own a 70 Grande with a saddle-colored vinyl roof (probably leather texture, I can't remember - it may have even been a half-roof) and the molding at the base of the vinyl roof looked like a tooled leather belt.
i had a 70 coug with the black and white houndstooth interior but it had a plain black vinyl top. i know where there is a gold coored 70 coug in a salvage yard that has the houndstoof seats and roof. would be a pretty cool resto project.
