Does TMI have the best replacement seat covers?
Is a kit the best way to go?
Since converting to black I need:
Seat covers
Seat foams
Head liner
Visors
Dash pad (prefer Ford tooling)
Carpet
Door panels
Arm rest
Kick panels
And Rear panels

And seat belts, wish to to convert to lap and shoulder but not sure how to do this in a 66 Coupe.

Yeah want to get a wood steering wheel too, but not sure if aftermarket is good.

TIA

Im not by any means advertising for a company, but if you get on ebay and type in "66 mustang coupe interior kit" you should see some kits from Laurel Mountain Mustang, they use TMI parts and come with everything you need for around 700 bucks. I am using one of those kits for my 67.

Thanks! I will check that.

I just talked with Virginia Mustang and since with my wheel purchase my ticket is over 1200.00 and there will be a discount.

Have you ever put in a headliner before?

headliner

The headliner install isn't that bad if you have the front and rear glass out... I'd recommend the $5 can of glue to wipe on the edges (not the spray glue). It's pretty straightforward, and an extra set of hands helps. Extra windlace can be used to hold the edges as you work.

Here's my page showing the finished product: headliner in 66 coupe

My existing parchment headliner is in perfect condition, maybe I can dye it?

Glass out or in

Hmm i suppose you can paint it if you prefer, but you can still install a headliner with the glass in, it's just not as easy (since you are pushing the glued headliner edge under the windshields' rubber trim.) Also, if you remove the old headliner, you'll be able to glue some Dynamat on the underside of the roof for sound control.

Never put in a headliner, but im going to give it a shot here in a couple of weeks, im changing from saddle to black and my old headliner was all ripped and dry rotted anyway. Lots of write ups on it, I found one mustang monthly did and saved it to my favorites, anyway, good luck with your project.

Where are you getting your parts?

You know I just remembered I have to remove the headliner to aid in repairing a dent on top the roof.

May as well get a new black one.
I do have some very clean parchment interior parts may be able to sell them.
