Interior Lighting

Has anyone added any aftermarket lighting to the interior of the car. I think it's either Mercedes or Infiniti that has a light that goes across the side of the driver's side door, across the dash, and continues to the passenger's door.

I'm not looking for this much detail but maybe something just across the dash, maybe under the lip that hangs over the stereo area, tach/speedo, and airbag. I'm not sure if I want to go all the way across or just over the stereo. I love the interior but it looks really bland in the stereo area, especially with the green backlighting. I think this may add a little something to it.

Of course, I don't want a ricey black light or soem stupid thing that blinks to the beat of the music. Something subtle and classy. can this be done?

During xmas last year I put a blue rope light in my stang and plugged it into a power inverter while in the yard with the other xmas lights it was pretty cool.
