Interior paint or buy new pieces?

Not to beat a dead horse..but here goes..

Ok guys..my car is about 5 years old now (2 payments left, 01 GT)..and while it's not a daily driver anymore..parts of the interior are showing wear..like around the shifter and the door "pods"..where you pull the door shut.

These pieces basically are losing their color...the grey is rubbing off and exposing the black plastic underneath. I guess these peices are coated with some kind of rubberized coating almost...(interior color is graphite grey)

Anyway..Im a bit lenient on trying to paint these for fear that prep will be a pain and it wont hold up.

I wouldnt want to buy the new interior "trim" pieces (around radio, shifter, and door pods) if they are just going to do the same thing..why waste the money.

As for those that say it is "rice", etc...I really have no choice but to paint at this point.. I would not go with any wild color..maybe true blue to match the exterior..or just a color that matches the interior..

I'm not sure what the best way to prep is, or even what type of paint to use, I imagine a quality plastic paint will suffice, If I can find a decent color.

The same thing is going to happen with the paint. You can always buy the roushe ones that are all aluminum for $250 If I were, just get some off of ebay/junk yard. Good Luck.

I think the Roush ones are still plastic, just painted..form what I read..they look like aluminum but really arent..but I could be wrong.
