well i'm sick of looking at my interior, it's black and gray like so many others, main prob is the gray parts have faded all diff shades of gray. i really liked the all black interior i had on my 93 gt so i wanna dye it all black . my question is what paint did all of you use and which is best and what to stay away from. now i have never done painting so any help would be appreciated. thanks in advance guys.

i have looked at 5.0resto and considered it. i have used search but thought it would be easier for the guys to just put all their exp's together instead of reading so many pages.

its true and the search on this forum sucks! I used the stuff from summit VHT Vinyl dye on my truck, turned out great. Stay away from duplicolor dye, it turned out like crap in my mustang. Oh and it is dye not paint.

yeah i found out about duplicolor from trying it on my faded floor mats. there were gray faded to pea green yuck! so i tried black and it turned ok till i used them. so you liked the vht? worked well for you? and if i dye the whole interior looks like some of it considered paint and some dye depending which material i'm painting. btw your paint looks great i wanted a gt like that but no luck. maybe one day i'll repaint my red into the lower gray?

Thanks alot man, Yeah the VHT I used on my old truck and it turned from blue to black perfectly. Almost everything on the interior is dyed w/ that stuff. Including plastic vinyl and fabric, so it really is like a onestop kindof deal.

i used Sem paint
and havent had a problem yet...
Before:
http://putfile.com/pic.php?pic=6/17122515082.jpg&s=x2

After:
http://putfile.com/pic.php?pic=6/17122530755.jpg&s=x2

Used a degreaser ,red scuff pad, prep spray, bull dog promoter(gets nice and tacky), and last the SEM paint.
All in the same order

I got the prep spray and the promoter at Wal Mart and the paint and the scuff pads at a local paint shop. If your going the 50 resto stuff it will work the same but you just pay more or at leats i would have due to the fact i live in texas and get hit with taxes and then shipping so it would of come out to like 12.50 compare that to 10.77 a can i went the cheaper route. But its the same quality you just have to prep it right.

Hopes this helps
