I am having all the smooth trim pieces in the dash painted to match my car(Lazer Red). I have already ordered a white overlay for the A/C controls and a shorty billet antenna. Should I go all out with the billet accesories? Any pics or comments would greatly help with this decision.

Uh...sorry I can't help you with your question...but painting the trim pieces in your car sounds like a rad idea. How are you getting that done and how much does it cost? Hate to bog you down with questions of my own,but I've got a Laser Red Stang too and I thought the interior could use a little sprucing up!

Local body shop that is owned by a friend from H.S. is doing it. It is the same process as painting your side mirrors clean them very good, scuf them with sand paper, apply a bonding agent, and paint. As far as the cost I get mine done for cost of materials no labor but it should not cost very much. I also have my side mirrors painted they look great.

I've got a bunch of the billet pieces throughout my interior and I like the way that it accents the otherwise very dull interior...the painted pieces should do that pretty well too I imagine. I have the Steeda parts, mostly because I wanted to logo in a few places, but UPR has a pretty good package deal going on their billet interior accents right now on their site if you are looking to do that.

You can see some pics of my painted interior by looking at my CarDomain page. Click here. I don't have any billet pieces though. I was afraid they would class with the silver paint job.

Alpine's 9835 ($550.00 MSRP) is the one I am replacing mine with once we get them into the shop...I personally think that Alpine has the best head-units on the market. If you don't go that direction I would recommend Kenwood Excelon. The biggest key is to ensure that whatever you get has 3 sets of RCA pre-outs, preferably gold plated. Beyond that you just need to look at the feature-set to see if they have what you want and that they can do what you want.

I installed all the pieces tonight. They look great. I will try to post pics after I get the new A/C panel early next week.
