Here's one to watch out for: releasing your safety belt and letting it run back on its own. The tounge glances against the door insert, leaving little chips in the plastic.

Instead, hold onto the belt as the pulley takes up slack.

Maybe a dab of Armor All will cover those chips. Which are barely noticeable to begin with. Like the thread's title says, I'm a tad compulsive ...

I do worry about that because my girlfriend who dosnt think before she does things like this. Lets go of the seat belt and my heart break everytime i hear it ping against my interior, i keep telling her to not do that and hold it while you gently place it back....(girlfriend.. )

It has nothing to do with balls. It's just force of habit and they don't even think about it

this nothing new for Mustangs!, my 68 Shelby belts do that, if you let it go the retractors pull it right into the lower ribbed aluminim trim panel.
I had just put some NOS panels in for a show and my wife lets the belt go once and that was all it took...grrrr.

thanks for the heads up on the 06!, when mine shows up I will take notice

Use anything but Armor All. It's greasy and not the best stuff available.
