Every now and then my car will start cutting out at around 4000rpms when you are running it hard. It doesnt do itevery time and I dont know how to explain itother than cutting out. What all can I check to see what is causingthis?

Plat plugs can cause this. A coil on the outs often starts to cut out at about 4K as well. Ditto a bad TFI.

I would start by pulling codes, if you haven't already.

Good luck.

Just in case, the V8 engines have their computer hookup in the engine bay, behind the passenger shock tower. The plug under the dash is useless on the V8's - it's not wired in at all. It's only used on the V6 Mustangs.

I too would check out the plugs and ignition system. Around a .045 to .050 gap should suffice, as plugs age the gap will get a bit bigger on ya.

You hitting the track any time soon, we still need to meet up!
