been up pretty much all night reading the stickies in 5.0 tech.. good stuff

looks like I'm going to focus on strength and suspension. build a solid foundation capable of putting up big numbers after swapping in my built engine.

that being said the rear end is up near the top of my to do list. I can pick up a turbo coupe 8.8 with 3.55 gears and disc's for cheap or an '01 stang 8.8 with 3.27 gears, disc's, and 5 lug for even cheaper. the stang rear end looks like a no brainer but I wanted to double check.

I want to measure mine. It doesn't look that tall.

do your suspension first. with an older car you will see more bang for your buck in that area.

The newer Stangs have a wider track, so you'll want to avoid the '01 rear end. Aim for a rear end out of a '86-93 V8 car, or you'll have a tough time getting a wheel that will fit inside your wheel well.

if he went with an 01' 8.8, his wheel options would be pretty much limited to 05+ 45mm offset wheels..
