Thinking of getting an iPod.

Anybody heard of any kits that allow the iPod to interface with the Shaker 500?

iTrip. It plugs in where your headphones would normally go, and its an FM transmitter.. You just pick which station you want it on and you're set. It should work.

Aye, the iTrip works good, I live in DC and still get good a clear signal on the Shaker system. JUst curious though, on the Shaker where is the Aux cable hookup, I've noticed the button for it but can't id the cable.

I've got an IRiver FM transmitter hooked up to my MP3 player - I find that I can't get it as loud as a direct source (eg. CD) without distortion.

I'd also be interested to know if an MP3 can be hooked up via the Aux input on the Shaker 500 system.

I have an Ipod and am shopping for a stereo that has an aux input. I have been trying to find out if the shaker has the inputs in back. If not I will get a deck that does have them. My father in-law hooks his ipod to his stereos input and it sounds awesome the clarity is second to none. My wife got the itrip and it is cheap and it does sound good at times but you get what you pay for. The sound is not clear all the time. Hooking the ipod into the deck or input port is the way to go.

Try the Roadtrip plus. It has a charger and fm transmitter built in one. It costs $29. Place it along with your ipod in the console, plug it into the hidden console outlet. Works and sounds great and no one can see your ipod.

There is one company that makes a great setup...however their version for the 2005 is not out yet. they say its in the works but I dont know when it will be finished. you can check out more and get on the waiting list at mp3yourcar.com I am waiting for one myself...mp3 cds are nice but i need my ipod

Yeah I'm getting mine installed in my Stang when I get it. I already have it hooked up in my Ranger. I have a brand new Alpine CDA-9855 and the interface adapter. It plugs into the iPod's bottom connector. Works perfect. Completely part of the car now. I'd highly suggest it. Costs a pretty penny though (around $400 but maybe around $200 or $300 if you get the cheaper decks). Never go anywhere without your tunes .

I am an avid iPodder. I use the Kensington Digital FM transmitter and an RF Remote. I put the whole bundle in the arm console (the Kensington plugs into the cig lighter outlet). The reception is really pretty good, and I live in North Houston. As soon as a hard-line option becones available from Ford, I assure you I will jump on it, but for now, I give these wireless tools an A-. It is totally out of sight, and all I have to do is hit the remote to go to the next song.

I dont recommend the iTrip. Bad bass (for me anyway).

Road Trip + only costs about $27. It and the ipod will fit in the console. Decent sound. Not as good as a direct hookup though. Ford needs some techno stereo people on staff so the goodies can be built into an all-new car.

AUX Interface

There is an AUX interface coming out towards the end of August '05. It uses the '05 mustang shaker unit to access the "AUX" feature! It tricks the head unit into thinking there is a rear seat entertainment system attached. It is from www.pie.net. I have tried the FM transmitters and they have never worked well for me, but I think this will work great!

Where did you find on their web site that the 05 Mustang version is coming? Is the price about $169 or so? Will there be a display? I couldn't find specific information about our cars.

Ok, this is only partially helpful, but I was perusing a copy of LOWRIDER magazine, the TEXAS issue and they have a small story on a new product that lets you attach your Ipod directly to your stock stereo through a port in the back. I can't for the life of me remember the name of the company, but the issue should still be on the newstand. Check it out soon, it should be gone in a week or more.

Yeah it hooks up using the cd changer port. You can find it all over. Here's a link
