IRL/F1 etc

Did you watch the IRL race from Texas? That was some real close racing. Indy has never been a really interesting race as far as passing because there's only one lane on the track for those cars, they pass on the straights instead. But, I'm not really a fan of anything that only turns left.

so, I was flipping the channels and saw the start of the Indy 500 on espn classic. I decided to watch some of it since I've never really watched open wheel racing.

All I can say is WOW!

People that say this is better then NASCAR... what are you all thinking?

Announcer: "wow, look how close those cars are together! They are nose to tail, 2 to 3 car lengths apart" :rlaugh: :rlaugh:

I saw little to any side by side racing, hardly any passing, no bumping, no nothing. Just single file racing with everyone 3 cars apart :notnice:

Wtf does it mean when they say they are going 352kph? Last I checked, Indianapolis is in mother ****ing America :flag: , not sissy euro-metric land :notnice:

The cars sound funny. They don't sound like real mother ****ing AMERICAN :flag: V8's. They don't even look like cars. They look like space ships with big black globs at each corner  They all look the same. Sure, some are different colors, but there's so little body to them, you can't tell who is who

so, to sum it up, NASCAR > IRL
wow Kraw. I always thought you were above the level of a typical NASCAR fan. Like someone that loves motorsports but thinks NASCAR is closer to your style.
Then you rant on things you don't understand.
You don't want to be three wide constantly like NASCAR. It's open wheel, you rub fenders, not wheels in NASCAR. Plus open wheels cars are way more darty. The level of downforce despite new rules are way up there.
Open wheel cars also don't punch a big hole in the air like stock cars do.
So when there is a pass, it seems more calculated and risky in open wheel, so it's more exciting to me when a pass does happen.
