Is $8,000 a fair price for this car?

listing said:
Triple Black 1995 GT Vert, leather interior, 5 speed, fully loaded. very pretty car , aftermarket parts (Hood, Cobra Bumper, Saleen wing ) could use paint. 373 Gears, Full Stainless steel exuast, Shorty Headers,Complete MSD Tune up, King Cobra Clutch, Frame ties(Welded) Cold Air Intake, high output altenator, head work, etc. 4" harwood Cowl hood and $1600 stereo system. More im sure , but cant think of it at the time. Clean carfax , good daily driver , not a race car , but it is fast.

I'd say no.

I was going to sell my stang with a 347 stroker and EVERYTHING worked for 6500 bucks but all I got were tire kickers. I think the price I was asking was fair but just looking at the specs on this car without actually seeing I would say that is too high.

nobody modifys their car and doesnt beat it...thats something to always keep in mind.....it also depends on where you live as well....up here its hard to touch a real good 94-95 for less than that....kelly blue book says that the book value is like 5 grand for my car but id bet i could sell it for like 7500 up here(converted back to stock)

Good point about beating it.

I'm in dc ... stuff in general costs more around here than other places. Is that what it is like where you live?

Should it be easier or harder to find a good one around DC for less than $8000 than it would be up there?

it shouldn't be a problem. plus who cares if you have to drive a ways to save a couple grand and get a sweet car.

No it is a hard top and it has an automatic but it is a built auto and also has 4:10 gears. it is a real sleeper it has a growl but not to loud. When these ricemobiles lines it is a blast to fly by them with one hand on the wheel and the other waiving bye.

I raced a 99 cobra on the interstate coming home he wouldn't leave me alone so I thought why not? We were already doing eighty when we nailed it I pulled about one/two car lengths on him every time he tried. I finally let off around 130/135. He followed me off the interstate to a gas station and asked what did I do to that thing and he has never lost to a regular G.T. so I told him. He asked what gear I was in I said drive he say no I mean third or fourth I said neither it is an auto the hurt on his face made me want to go buy him a Pepsi.

He seemed to get a little upset that he lost to an auto and told me how he would destroy me from a dead stop and then I proceeded to tell him with a 2500 stall, built aode and 4:10 gears he wouldn't stand a chance. I was surprised I did as well as I did on the interstate to be honest but oh well. I think people don't really realize the potential of an auto until they actually have one that is built correctly.

with that mod list, I wouldn't give them for than 2k. Again, mods LOWER the value, not raise it.

i just looked at it. clean, new top, rattles less than mine, nice stereo. paint on bumper and hood sucks. my car (see sig) feels quicker, could it be the gears?

Yes, gears makes it feel like another car. Is it an auto or stick?

he says he would sell it for $7000. if i sell my car for $7000, i'm even. then:

$700 sell his custom rims/tires (weld) i still have my stock rims.
$500 sell his custom hood and wing (he has stock still)
$300 sell his stainless exhaust (too loud for my tastes)
-800 new emissions legal exhaust
---------
so far, i'm $700 ahead. next:

$700 sell my uninstalled heads/cams (i paid $900 for them)
$600 sell the c&l/accufab stuff (paid $750, 1 month old - see sig)
-----
now i'm $2000 ahead. now here's the real kicker:

$3000 saved by not having to finish the pi head swap (w/long tubes/tune)!

now i can put the $3000 it would have taken to finish the headswap plus the $2000 i saved towards a supercharger or one of those 345 hp frpp engines!

hard to pass up ...

It depends if you want pushrod or mod motor? I think as of right now the mod community hasn't caught up with the aftermarket for the pushrod as of yet but it is only a matter of time. I am personally old school I like the pushrod but that is just me. If I were you take 5500 cash and lay it on his hood and see if he takes it. I have done that before on cars I have bought. Just like that old saying "bull**&% walks and money talks".
