Does anyone know what the difference is between a 95 Cobra distributor and the normal 5.0 unit? My distributor is making noises so I know the bearings are going so I need to replace it. I had a local repair shop tell me that the only difference is in the advance mechanism, which is easily swapped out. Ford dealer wants $356.00 for a new Cobra unit, while I can buy the normal 5.0 unit for about $100.00. I would much rather save the bucks and swap the advance unit!! Anyone have experience with this problem?
