I heard someone say that they are basically the same without the brand name. If this is the case, I think I might just get the typhoon with the polished finished, since i'm having trouble finding the edelbrock in a polished version. What do you think?

They are supposed to be the same as the Eddy Performer RPM intake. There have been problems with people not being able to get the T-stat housing to seal properly on the typhoon intakes (RC) and I've ***heard*** about poor castings on the intakes too but I have never seen one in person to justify this. All in all... yes the typhoon is the same as the performer RPM

Its a copy cat of the RPM intake by edelbrock. Do NOT buy that professional products made in china garbage!! Buy the real thing if you want an intake mnaifold.

it is fine to buy especially if you want a cheap foundation for a ported RPM.... liek to run with AFRs or trick flows and sping it a lil [past 6000

the lower does have a bit of casting flas, but a dremel can clean this easily.

There's NOTHING wrong with it if you want to save some $$ and have it polished...but as said, is not good for stock applications.

The "problem" that Zach (1105) is referring to only occurred when I used the aftermarket chrome water neck....and only after it was on awhile...it warped.!
When I got a $10 Steel one from Pep Boys, it held nicely...going on about 8-9 months now.

I prefer not to support china when I could support America where the REAL manifold is made. Thats the main problem for me aside from the poor quailty I read about but given its cheap and made in china, i'd expect that Just figured i'd get my $.02 in

No question the casting is not of A-1 Standards, but if youre going to say you'd "rather not support China", you'd better ditch 1/2 your car!

I just put one on my neighbors car.

When I first torqued it down, you could see where it was and was not sealed (after going through the torque sequence 5 times). I took a straight edge to it and looked like sine wave. After I milled the sides 0.040" because of the casting flaws, it fit fine.

It's hit or miss with the Chinese stuff.

Good to know that it is like the RPM. That could have been a big mistake, since i don't have the cash for the heads/cam. I guess it all comes down to you get what you pay for.

Someone around here had one for really cheap. I steered clear of it even though I was looking for engine parts and had $$ in hand. Money was better spent elsewhere.

i got mine new for 300 on Ebay, so i think im ahead of the game, i took the grinder to it to remove some casting flashm all the port faces were straight and everything looked good, although im thinking of getting it polished before i toss it on.

im running the performer rpm on stock heads/cam, big mistake, dont do it lol, but you can buy the lower base intake from 50resto.com and then find a performer 5.0 upper and do it that way for cheaper
