hey all, i have a 1968 Mercury Cougar. To my knowledge, the 302 and C4 are original parts, and i just pulled them out and would like to sell them. I was just wondering where the best place to do this is. Im a little hesitant to try ebay because i dont feel like ebay would get the word out to the people that are interested in this motor trans combo. I feel like someone who is doing a "concours" resto would pay more for the date stamps and stuff on my engine than someone on ebay. You go to ebay for cheap crap, not motors and trannies.

I just bought a 99 exploder 5.0 that i plan on dropping in my cougar (for now) and the junkyard wanted to give me $50 as a "core charge" for my 302. Again, the jy doesnt take into account the classic nature of my combo.

TO SUMARIZE
is an original '68 302 / C4 combo worth anything to mustang/cougar enthusiasts? Wheres the best place to sell these? In fact now that i think about it, my good ol 8 inch 3.00:1 open diff can go too.

TIA

well, i didnt want to catch **** from the mods for breaking forum rules.

In other words, i wanted to ask in the talk forum where the best place to sell is, rather than actually start selling them.

But, i live in Saint Louis Missouri and go to college in Rolla. I go back and forth usually once every two weeks so if someone was close to either city, i would tell them that i can have the engine and/or trans in either city given advanced notice. I dont much care for the idea of throwing them in the back of my 93 LX hatch, so i would need to go to stl and put the 302 in the back of my truck and drive all the way back to rolla to deliver them. then drive all the way back to drop the truck off and get abck in my car...kind of involved, but worth it.

the engine probably needs to be rebuilt but it does turn. I dont know if its worth anything. The trans seems fine.

what did you all do with the stock junk that came on your rustbuckets?
