Is anyone else aggrivated by the ads on StangNet?

Specifically the ones in the lower right next to the quick reply box.

I just saw one for SeniorSizzle.com!!!

Previous ads were things where you had to aim something to hit something for a chance to win like a MP3 player. I don't mind a "hit a clown with a pie" game or even something like a duck shoot, but the guy hanging out the window to bash mailboxes? playing quarters as the glass spins around the table? What the heck is going on? Does Mike Raburn approve of these things?

 :fuss: :damnit:

The day the New Blue format came out that ad box next to the reply box was gone and the reply box took up the whole width. I couldn't have been happier. Later that day, or the next day the ads were back. That's when I noticed that I could close the box with the button in the top right corner. Now I only open it when I need it.

The recent change that annoys me is the the vaugely relevant Ads buy Google that are under every first post.

Of course without ads there would be no website, although we get so innundated with advertisements these days its becomeing natural to mentally tune them out.

I still use the old blue to avoid that Google link thingy.

I don't mind static adds, but the animated moving ads are memory hogs and they screw up the performance of the site.

I don't have those. The only 2 I have are the one towards the top (above the forum directory tree), and the one next to the quick reply. I generally just tune them out.

Yes the mailbox bashing is irresponsible, but the ones that really annoy me is the ones that pop into the screen in front of you and run their pathetic little movie. Now when I see Castrol in the stores all it will do is annoy me as I reach past it for the Valvoline.
