i have seen on here were people have got plenty of mods such as full exhaust and maybe some intake mods and have dynoed and only be around 245 -260. i thought the newer stangs were rated at 260hp. can anybody explain?

98GTSteve said:260hp is at the motor.... a stock mustang usually dynos ~230 rwhp. If they are making 245-260hp at the wheels then they are actually making 15-20% more at the motor... Factory HP is not rated at the rear wheel.

Hard to imagine a cat back and different airbox gained an additional 55-70 RWHP...Musta been one of those 'fun-house' dynos where everything is distorted.
