???? my battery light just came on in my car, my charge gauge is low, i just put in a new battery last month, i think im in need of a new alt, how hard is it to take out, can i do it myself???

where can i check the in line fuse? on the fuse compartment box?Aliate X said:I had the same problem, battery not holding a charge. Replaced the alt, and still the same prob. Turns out I blew the in line fuse.
we dont have inline fuses for the alternator stock. we have a fusible link off the starter solenoid. a lot of folks install a stereo fuse when doing a 3G upgrade (which requires a new alternator cable to be run. that is where the fuse is).bobbyd said:where can i check the in line fuse? on the fuse compartment box?

Aliate X said:Yeah I have an aftermarket stero. It adds only like 15 hp though.
