Is it normal for the car to stink after adding H pipe and Cat back?

It will be hardly noticeable in two weeks. Maybe totally gone in a month. That's on my daily driver.

It also smells like un burnt fuel. Any chance that an O/R pipe can cause damage to my motor? Or as long as my pre cat o2 sensors are in place everything will be okay?

It won't cause damage to your motor. Without cats you will definately smell unburned fuel. Even with high flow cats, you will probably smell some since they flow better than the stock cats. IE they don't build up as much heat and burn up the fuel before it gets out.

i dont understand the point of getting a h/x pipe with cats. if your car is stock with 4 cats, a h/x pipe with 2 high flow ones does not make it any more legal. youre gonna have to swap it for the stocker come smog time anyways, cause the tech will count them, so might as well make it worth the while.

but most times you do exhaust work, there is a smell, be it welds or oils or what have you.

does it smell like beef flavor ramen noodles? ha, j/k. it's the stuff mac puts on. it will go away.

A) It's easier to pass a visual inspection, esp when a cop pulls you over.

B) Here in TX, they just plug in. So if you have working MIL Eliminators, and you have the cats (or even the shells!) underneath the car, you'll pass with flying colors, unless they decide to do the sniffer to your car.

EDIT: When I went to get my car inspected, I just ignored that I didn't have cats and hoped that everything would go smooth. Sure enough, I didn't pass any extra money or anything, and the person didn't say anything. Probably didn't do a visual inspection.

I pass with flying colors since there isn't a sniffer up here. MIL's dont come on and it passes the visual.

Wow, that is not true. If a inspector looks under your car and see 0 cats than you'll fail. If he/she looks but see 2cats than your good. Thats how i see it.

Smell is normal. I love not having inspections

the smell is normal. its a coating on the pipes. it burns off.
