Is it normal for the car to stink after adding H pipe and Cat back?

Just had to bring back this thread. I just got the mac catted hpipe installed and i get the same exact smell. Its not an exhaust smell, but it smells like someone is burning plastic. The inside smells of it pretty bad and once you get out the car you can smell it strong coming from the back of the car. I know its normal, but heh its odd.

Smell is normal. Like everyone was saying, coatings, new parts, etc... Also, usually a lubricant is used when doing the bends to lower the friction between the rollers and the pipe as to not crack/messup the tubing and also keep it rolling through the bender; Usually most places don't wash off the pipes before shipping so the stuff dries and burns off your first few drives. I myself wash all exhaust components with a mild soap solution and a rag on a string (pulled through the pipes).
