Rev-Limiter is set at around 7k on these cars. So no. You probably put the distributor back in wrong or your timing is off. Does it feel like you hit a complete wall and all you hear is basically air being sucked in?
How'd ya setup the valves/rockers?
If you are still using OEM springs![]()
There is a possibility the cam is now working the springs harder and they just

2nd, are you basing this on a stock tach? As they have been known to be off... a LOT on some cars.
yes to both questions. I was just going by based on my stack setup my tach pulled up to 6k with me manual shifting and now the 5200
