is my block strong enough for these heads?

wanting to get some advice about my engine and these heads. I bought these highly modified trick flow heads and wondered if my stock block will be strong enough to handle them and the new higher compression? Also what push rods should I get? SPECS are below:

They have 2.02" intake and 1.60" exhaust valves, and are ported to a Fel-Pro #1262R intake gasket. These heads are real air movers, and flow 301 intake and 207 exhaust. They have 49cc combustion chambers, and have triple springs installed.

the block won't be a problem until you reach 500-550hp.

what else do you have done to the motor?

SInce it appears your heads have been cut a pretty good amount, your going to need an adjustable pushrod to see how big exactly you'll need them to be. The heads wont move that much air unless your cam and intake can support it.

I also bought a ported upper and lower steeda intake, E-303 cam, 24lb injectors, new config Airmass meter, higher rate fuel pump, fuel pressure regulator, and 70mm throttlebody.

Are the stock pistons and rods going to be strong enough also?

assuming it is running and tuned right you should easily make 340-350 fwhp (conservatively I would guess) if you have the corresponding exhaust components. You could have gone with a better cam but the alphabet cams are decent. I used to run a B-303 on my old 306.

Any idea what they said your compression should be with 49cc heads?

just check the PTV clearance to know for sure on the pistons.

Now that I think about it, I remember you said you had upgraded springs. With upgraded springs your cam might not be big enough to work with those kind of springs. I have upgraded springs on my trick flows too but I run a .574/.595 cam. You might want to call trick flow and ask them about your cam, or the person who did your heads and springs.

While that cam is a tad on the "small" side for those heads, it will work fine. I would look into getting that intake ported, a 70-75mm t-body and a 80mm pro-m. That will take care of your air section, no you just need to address the fuel.

Depending on the spring pressures it may be way to much pressure for a E-Cam and cause issues, do you know what the pressures are at the seat and open. You will definitely need to clay up the pistons to check for radial clearance on the eyebrows.

Sounds like a Pure Street style Tirck Flow head to me...

Timmy is right you'll need to use an adjustable pushrod to see what size you need. Also check to see how the intake sits on the heads, you may need to mill the intake on all 4 sides to get it to seat properly.

I was going to say, if the heads have been cut that much, then your intake will need it too. Also, triple valve springs are just way too much for any alphabet cam. Your also going to have no bottom end whats so ever with heads that size. You may have an issue running pump gas too since youll be over 10to1. The issue isnt if the engine can handle the horsepower because you arent making much. The issue is revving since those heads will handle past 7000 rpms which I wouldnt do on a factory engine. Honestly, this is a horrible mismatch of parts.
