If the EEC was dead, it would not spit codes.
For 511, be sure the KAM receives power. Check your EEC fuse (underhood fusebox) to be sure it's ok and the fuse's tangs make good contact with the terminals.
You might have an issue with your CCRM if your EEC is acting up intermittantly and the fuel pump doesnt always run when it should.
What are the symptoms?
but according to ford pin 1 has nothing to do with 511. if the EEC fuse was blown then the car would not start because there would be no power to the EEC relay hence no power to the EEC. i stated to check power there just because some techs i know had said to do that in the past. when i had 511's on customer's cars i still had power there and replaced the EEC (after running through the EEC replacement checklist) and the vehicle started right up and ran fine.
and yes, it could be generated by the tune but he didn't say he had one so i made the mistake of assuming he didn't have a chip/tune.
So you can't just add a chip to the computer is what you're saying?
no, what we're saying is a chip could cause a FALSE code 511.
Actually Hissin a bad pcm will throw codes. It will def run like ****. Been there
