When I tried to pop the hood of my GT today after pulling into my garage, the prop was too hot to touch. Both the oil temp and the engine temp were right in the middle of the range, but the temp of the prop worried me. Is this normal? The outside air temp was high (95 or so), and I was running the A/C.

They make new pistons every day, so why worry?

I have seen guys with cylinder head temps at or around 210 degrees, especially sitting in traffic. I would not worry about this at all personally.

Would not worry about middle of the gauge is normal and I have hit 210F, thats not bad for a modern car. My '01 Corvette would swing between 220-240 and that was normal!

Thanks. Drove again today in 95+ heat, and the temps were normal on the gauges. The hot prop kinda freaked me out.

Yep, my '13 will hit 205* cyl head temp on the highway in 50* weather. Nothing to worry about. Hot rodding the 5.0 in the summer heat I've only ever seen 220*... Basically it's meant to run around 200* head temp when fully warmed up

Yes, my CHT gauge showed 205 in a drive-through today after sitting for 15 minutes. I guess the PP larger radiator would cool better in very hot climates or on the track.

Nothing to worry about. Temp is about normal for these cars.
