Is Porter Cable the only polisher out there??

I've seen the raves about the Porter Cable device but it's too expensive IMO. Those orbital buffer/polishers seem too weak and the other brand random orbit polishers/sanders have an ORP of like 10,000 when the PC is 2,500-6,000. Anyway, I can't seem to find any other polishers with similar specs to the PC. Is there anything else out there that works as good but costs less????

There are many companies out there that make them. You just need to search for them. If you are looking for a good cheap buffer Chicago makes one that works well in my opinion. It's not my favorite, but someone picked one up for me because I needed it in a pinch and it's done an excellent job.

We aren't talking about rotary buffers. The Porter Cable is a dual action polisher. The Porter Cable is perfectly safe for the novice to use with no risk of paint damage whereas a rotary buffer does require some technique and experience and in the hands of a novice can do serious damage.
