Can you take apart the 96-98 taillights without having to ruin them and reassemble them as good as new?

I am wondering if the lens is glued/plastic welded to the housing. I'm pretty sure the bezel is held on with screws and clips.

Yeah its possible. The benzel is held on by 3 screws on the bottom and by clips around the main assembly.
I bought some clear tails, benzel came in chrome,
liked my stock white better but the inside of the euro's. Simple switch.

hey thanks, it looks good....but i think i like the stock better also. I think the only way i'd change the back is if i could find a set of the euro cobra rears with the amber turn signal.

I am mainly interested in if the lens is removable from the housing. Like say if you wanted to clean the mirror reflectors behind the bulbs inside of the taillight. Is this what you thought was possible?

Oh. Well, if really wanted i guess you could cut through the seal but its not made to come apart. I've had mine on for over 2 years and there is no need to clean the inside.
