I put up a post about getting a shifter, i also want to know about getting a cold air kit for my 99 cobra.

is it worth getting?? I like the full kit from BBK, but is it worth the money?? will i see any noticable difference?? Will the chrome piece be a lot hotter than the factory plastic, or is it just better overall??

what should i get first, the cai, or the shifter?

thanks for any input.

BBK is all bling. it gets so hot.

Get a JLT CAI or KN FIPK

The JLT CAI added 20 to the tires.

I'd go with JLT or Steeda.

You'll notice better engine performance with the CAI, while the shifter will only provide the "fun" factor. If it was me I'd do the cold air kit first.

I put on the JLT, but I haven't redynoed. It pulls better over 5,000 and can tell the most difference over 6,000. I'd guess 8-10 hp with an extended power range.

I agree the JLT or K&N FIPK are better than what BBK offers.

I do want to point out the 20HP to the tires that SVT98Snake is reporting was on his '03 Cobra. You're '99 will see less than a 5HP increase from this mod.

If you talk to Jay he might be able to customize it.

He did for my buddy who did a 03 drivetrain/powertrain swap in his 96 mystic.

Cai ?

txsnakecharmer has a great website. He has a great set for cai. I think Iam going with the one he has. Check it out if I were you. His car is bad A#$

As for shifter Steeda tri-axe is good. But lets face it the t5 tranny sucks.
