Is there a hole in the fire wall

i have a 98 Gt 5 speed and i am routing a wire from the engine bay to the cockpit is there a hole in the fire wall to put it through if not how would you get the wire from the engine bay into the cockpit

There is a hole, look harder, look from the engine bay side, near where the steering wheel is, then get down on the driver side floor with a flashlight.

another way to do this would be to go thru the fender into the door there is a rubber vent duct in there that you can run the wire thru then under the carpet and back (people may tell you going thru here will make it rub when u open the door causing a short) but it doesn't.....the wire is in there loosly and touches nothing.

Did you go thru the firewall or the fender?? i wanted to go thru the firewall but it was more work and either way it ended up the same.

I went through the firewall on my 03. What a PITA! I had to use a combination of needlenose pliers and a center punch to get through that rubber piece. I wanted it to go trough it and not simply around it so that it wouldn't be touching the bare metal and possibly rub.

easiest way is to heat up an old philips head screw driver or hole punch with a torch then poke it through the side of the big rubber gromet.
